During the third week of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, October 13-17, the NMCADV is proudly partnering with YWCA New Mexico and other local co-sponsors in a Week Without Violence. A Week Without Violence has been sponsored by YWCA’s across the country for the past 20 years to raise awareness about domestic violence and inspire communities to take action against all forms of violence.
In conjunction with a Week Without Violence, a Silent Witness Exhibit will be displayed all week in Albuquerque at the corner of San Mateo and Copper. The Silent Witness exhibit provides hope, help and healing for the victims and violators of domestic violence. Five life size red silhouettes representing those that have lost their live to domestic violence bring awareness to the domestic violence issue here in New Mexico.
Visitor can stop and see the silhouettes at any time throughout the week and find out more about domestic violence.
