Featuring Bobbi Sudberry of Kaity's Way

Bobbi Sudberry is an accomplished mother of five, wife, and the President of Kaity’s Way, a non-profit corporation that she Co-Founded with her husband Ric in September 2008.  Bobbi and Ric formed Kaity’s Way in honor of their daughter Kaitlyn Marie Sudberry who, at the age of 17, was murdered by her ex-boyfriend. The mission of Kaity’s Way is to promote understanding and educate the community to lessen the instances of violence among or against children through P.E.A.C.E. (Patience, Empathy, Acceptance, Caring, Equality). Bobbi now shares Kaity’s Story to bring public awareness at every opportunity to the realities of teen dating violence. It is Bobbi’s belief that anyone and everyone could benefit from hearing Kaity’s Story. It is a tragic story, in which lessons can be learned by all.

Bobbi herself is a survivor on many levels. Not only has she faced the murder of Kaity, she has met with other trials in her life ranging from domestic abuse to breast cancer. Bobbi chooses to think of these experiences as a journey that has brought her to where she is today. She draws upon this path of survival and determination to help others whenever the need arises.
Her efforts contributed to the 2009 passage of Kaity’s Law, which provides legal protection for victims of abuse in dating relationships, and in July 2010, the passage of high school instruction for education on the prevention of teen dating violence. In 2010, Attorney General Terry Goddard presented her the Distinguished Service Award for Public Policy for her part in the passage of Kaity’s Law in the State of Arizona in 2009.  She received additional recognition in 2010, including the Courage of Conviction Award from the AzCADV and the Community Action Award from Maricopa County Attorney Richard M. Romley.
